Is "when" the correct timing phrase for this card? Shouldnt it be "As long as"? Is "when" the correct timing phrase for this card? Shouldnt it be "As long as"? |

I like "when". Are there any examples in EIK? I like "when". Are there any examples in EIK? | chris Oct 31, 2010 8:43pm [quote] |

The closest examples i find are Meat-Seller from the E deck and Tinsmith from the K deck. Both do something that works any time but requires a certain condition. And it seems noone of us is correct. They use neither "When" nor "As long as", they use "If". So: If you have a Cooking Improvement, you may convert 1 Grain into 2 Food at any time. I like "When" better. "When" seems to imply you can do it Whenever (multiple times) while "if" seems to imply only one use. Of course "if" allows multiple uses, but "when" seems to handle multiple uses better. I like "When" better. Actually i dont agree with that. "When you play this card", "When you build a stone house", "When you accquire the pottery", all those examples dont handle multiple uses. On the contrary, "When" is always used for a single use, as the direct opposite of "Whenever". So the combination of "When" and "at any time" on this card looks very strange. Please change to "If".
