Tacticus

 Something wrong with your logic.

For a particular game, your thinking maybe right. However, you are playing 3 games!! And can you sure you can do well in the other games? If no, even you are winning, those players are still your opponents overall. Therefore, run as far as away, beat your opponents as much as you can, which is more safety :p

And that is why I make Top 6 seeded and give their advantages, also create winning or losing pool in semi - final. Therefore even you are winning you also wish to make other players score less:p, but not only qualify.  Grin

I confirm here the Jingking's points about the strategy. In my 1st tourney game, I was fightening for the victory against Sheepou and two other guys SS and Rune (which were finally 11 and 12 points behind) were both blocking me. After the game they confirmed, that it was really from this strategical reasons to make my score lower. I feel really difficult to fight 1 against 3. But anyway, thx for this tourney organisation.

Maybe it's just me but I hate this sort of thing. Each game should be played like you would any other 4'er, getting the best score for yourself and trying to win, not some min/maxing for 3rd/2nd.

This scoring is designed to ensure at least three of the four players are all trying to get the best score they can.  All Tacitus has pointed out is that the winning player can affect tournament standings insofar as he is willing to risk his own games.  It's a small risk, and a much better problem to have than the kind of kingmaking that happens when players second through fourth are all trying to cut throats to move up one position.
